Hearts and Rockets have pushed themselves beyond the hazy Heat Wave days, taking the fun and energy of their debut album Dead Beats and adding some serious pop smarts. They’re set to take it on the road for an East-Coast tour in September 2019.
Power features the single Dance Off; the party tune with a middle finger to the dudes at the front, which featured on a split 7” with garage-punk legends Shrimpwitch in late 2018 and had an incredible self-produced video that’s got to be seen to be believed (their 5th official video). Kurt and Kalindy have plans for a string of singles and video clips throughout 2019, and there is no shortage of options amongst these 14 earworms.
Power’s effect is in its simplicity: Hearts and Rockets don’t mince words, and they don’t waste time. Their short-sharp and catchy tracks are fun, without being vapid. They’ll make you want to dance, and definitely sing along, but heads up - you might elbow a few bigots along the way.
Hearts and Rockets release remix EP for their latest single ‘You Don't Know What You Have Until You've Had Enough' featuring re-workings by Pat Telfer (Mystery Guest), Mino Peric (No Sister), Jimmy Cass & USER. Available from heartsandrockets.bandcamp.com and all digital and streaming platforms.
It’s available here for free, but feel free to either purchase it from heartsandrockets.bandcamp.com or send what you’d like to pay to paypal.me/psychichysteria.

Psychic Hysteria presents our first split 7" release, featuring brand new songs from Melbourne punk trio Piss Factory and bratwave duo Hearts and Rockets (FKA Heat Wave).
After Piss Factory headlined the then called Heat Wave's first ever venue show in September 2016, they've been sharing bills as often as possible. After much talk, they've finally put out a split release featuring short bursts of energy from both acts.
The recording of Piss Factory's 1 minute 20 second long 377 bubbles over with the urgency of their live shows, dragging the listener with them to an end that seems to come around all too soon, but as with everything from Piss Factory, leaves you wanting more.
Hearts and Rockets' home recorded synth-pop-punk song Psychic Powers continues in the spooky vain of their debut album Dead Beats, with drums that can throw a punch and a synth line to melt your eyeballs.
Road Trip is a 16 page full-colour zine featuring photographs taken on 35mm film while travelling up and then back down the East Coast of Australia over the summer of 2016/17.
Mystery cover colour of either red (pictured), orange or yellow.
A6 colour zine - Edition of 20
